BOYCOTT 2025
The real culture war is a class war. Everything else is a distraction.
(in text links are provided for background understanding)
Background
A real populist movement is building on social media platforms. This movement, dubbed Boycott 2025, uses the hashtag #BC2025.
The Great American Working Class is fed up with being played by smooth-talking politicians and billionaires telling us that all of the problems should be blamed on some other group of people.
It is not a left vs. right or Democrat vs. Republican movement. It is we, the people, vs. the oligarchy. An oligarchy is a class of people focused on greed and power. I suggest you watch the video here if you want a solid understanding of the oligarchy and its danger to society.
BC2025 begins with a general strike against mainstream media (MSM) and large corporations. This boycott is designed for every person in the United States and our compatriots and supporters around the world to dismantle the oligarchy that is most evident in the US political system right now. Since the reelection of Donald Trump as US President, the oligarchs have taken off the gloves and shown that their support for the average US citizen was only to get votes and not due to any genuine caring about the effects of inflation stemming from the COVID pandemic. They just used that as a lever. The same way they use all culture war issues.
The first piece of evidence is Project 2025, the presidential transition plan. This plan tells us exactly how they plan to rip apart the federal government and divide it among Trump-supporting oligarchs, kicking out all the experts in the wide variety of fields that currently protect our air, water, food, medicines, and general safety.
Additional evidence is the increase in CEO pay compared to average worker pay. In 1980, the ratio was 42 to 1. In 2023, it was 221 to 1. Corporations have taken advantage of inflation caused by supply-chain failures during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic. Instead of reducing prices, they have continued to increase them. The resulting record profits have been used to enrich the oligarchy further and allowed corporations to use these profits in stock buybacks, increasing the stock price.
The mainstream/corporate media outlets (MSM) tailor their reporting in ways to mislead the public because this oligarch infrastructure has co-opted them. The owners are part of or want to be part of the oligarch class.
Goals
Take away some of the profits of the robber barons.
Get the attention of the politicians to remind them who puts them in office.
Take views away from the MSM and their sponsors.
Elect local, regional, statewide, and federal politicians who support the boycotts and the fight against the oligarchy.
Actions
Not everyone is in a position to take all of the actions. These actions will require all of us to participate as much as possible.
Stop watching all MSM TV news. Examples are CNN, MSNBC**, Fox News, OANN, etc.
Stop all subscriptions (print and digital) to major newspapers. The New York Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, and Boston Globe are examples.
Boycott the advertisers on cable news and in print/online MSM.
Stop subscription services such as Amazon Prime, Walmart+, etc.
Stop eating at corporate fast food places, restaurants, and coffee shops.
Shop only at local markets, home goods stores, and restaurants.
There have been peaceful protests at local politicians' offices, and they work. Although the politicians may be in Washington, the local news will carry local demonstrations, and people will hear about them. To be effective, we do not need to travel to Washington, D.C.
Spread the word on social media. Encourage the people you know to participate in demonstrations. We are stronger together. Be assertive in blaming the problems on the super-wealthy and asking all working people to join in with the boycotts and protests. Don’t be distracted by their blame game. We already know that the problems are caused by their insatiable greed.
These activities will require perseverance for them to have long-term effects.
**It must be mentioned that you should never disengage completely from reliable news sources. Independent journalists are increasingly important. At the same time, Rachal Maddow & Lawrence O’Donnell are on MSNBC. They offer essential historical and legal perspectives.
Summary
While implementing these boycott measures, we must also be active in local politics. Either running ourselves or recruiting young, energetic leaders who support the boycotts and the fight against the oligarchy. Remember that the robber barons have been focused on keeping us poor and making us work more than one job to just survive. We must dig in and actively support new leaders at all levels. They have the money, but we have the power of the people. The people's power will win every time we use it.
